PIRATES!

Isn't he the cutest little pirate that you ever did see? I drew his mustache and goatee on with eyeliner! lol! BTW- I finished adding to the post Carrots! =)

Isn't this a neat background? It's the old wall in what will be our new bedroom! Ryan has to pick up the new wood for the walls tomorrow. But while it's still the old wood, I thought it would make a great background for our piraty picture!

New Mom Tip: Even when well meaning people give you really "unwanted" advice like you're too stupid to know it yourself and lack common sense, just nod and smile then chalk it up as a big 'whatever!' and then do whatever you were doing that you feel is best as a parent.
Example: I had an iron plugged in about three feet away from me and a well meaning individual says, as they're handing Ty to me, "Don't get too close to that iron with him...it will burn him." UH....ok. I said, "I'll try to restrain myself." *he's survived with me so far people?! ARG!!! Another person says THIS evening, "Now you need to make sure you bundle him up really good because it's cold outside." Thank you so much! What would I ever do without their input? Posted by Picasa

Your little pirate is going to sweep the girls off their feet when he gets older!LOL He's so cute....I know that we say that a lot but he really is!

I like your new mommy tip. Even between the info that we give each other..the final decision is always Mommy and Daddys!!! Definitely! I mean who knows your baby more than you..!?Even some of the stuff we do is worth mentioning just IN CASE it works for others but it may be something that doesn't even wo
rk for each of mine.
In my case there are a few really obnoxious people that I REFUSE to take their advise and thats because their single young men (pathetic...cuz of course they know more than me...right?)THEY drive me up the wall...OK that's out of my system. Now for the rest I've chalked it up to (like you said) well meaning people who maybe have seen too many parents who really have lost their minds and have decided to speak up to every parent they see to "SAVE OUR CHILDREN" from us dumb people!!LOL
LOVE YOU LOTS- RACH

ahhh... you two are so cute looking! He looks so funny!! Good picture!

And yep, I know what you mean about the 'advice' But I learned, the second time around, just let it go in one ear and out the other ear. Not that all of it's bad advice, and we're not crazy ppl, that don't have a mothering skill in us at all. but hello...we are with them and do know them..But alot of times if they know that he's your first baby, they will start in on ya, and tell you everything' you should know'
I know my two kids are totally different from each other. Gavin would only sleep if we wrapped him up (like a little indian baby) and brooklynn has to be free as a bird and I found that I have to dress her rather warm at nite b/c she kicks all her covers off all the time... :) later..Amber

Well, now Jessica, I hope you know that you need to be careful puting eyeliner on a baby...wouldn't want you to poke his eye out or anything....LOL *sarcastic*

I really hate when people tell you stupid stuff like that....like you'd really burn him with an iron!! good grief!! There are some parents that stupid however, but anyone who knows you at all should know that would NOT describe you!! Duh!

Anyway, as I said before, you two do look adorable - all you need is a parrot!! hehehe

Jo-I saw some pics of you (Jess showed me) and you are a very cute pregnant mommy!! Also, I know how you feel on the waiting game...My Kayle was 9 days past due (after they changed my due date from 12/30 to 1/8 even!) I thought she was NEVER coming out...but she did and was I ever glad!! Be prepared for a big boy or girl though - late ones always are!! Praying for you!!

Okay, now Jessica, in case you don't know this already...you should really be careful when taking Ty to the store these days...all those cold virus's going around...you don't want him getting sick!! Don't let anyone cough on him, okay?? ROFL!!!

Talk to you later!! Love ya's!!

Hey Rachel! Thanks I think he's pretty cute too! Especially as a little pirate! And I agree with you on the advice...that's why I lable them New Mom "Tips." That's just what they are...they're things that I have found to work best for me and Ty. I'm sure that everything that works best for me will not work best for someone else, they're just suggestions of things I've found to be true for us. In the end, Momma knows best! =)

Hi Jo! I love his mustache too! It was my favorite part!!! I know it may not be much of a comfort at this point, but that baby will come sooner or later! We just hope it comes sooner than later! Plus, when he or she DOES decided to come, you'll be wondering why you EVER wanted him/her to leave her warm little spot in your belly! hahaha

Thanks Morgan! I love the background too! I'm going to hate to cover that wall up, I think it's the neatest old thing in this house!

Hi Lisa! I just love my little boy! He's a sweetie! I don't know what we ever did without him now. I always thought that I would want little girls first, but right before I got pregnant I kept my then 2 month old nephew for the weekend and fell in love with little boys! They're tons of fun and just precious! Now I can't wait to have a little girl too!

Hello Amber! Thanks!!! I know what you mean about the advice going in one ear and out the other..it's just sometimes it goes in one ear, then stays in between just long enough to make me aggrevated, then it goes out the other! haha

Uh...Amanda...thanks for all your "advice"! lol! You crazy girl!! He did have a parrot, it just didn't make it into the picture for some reason. hahaha. I definitly make sure I try keep him away from sick people and coughing maniacs! lol I sure would hate for our blogger baby to get sick!

Later all! Jessica

Pirate? No way!!
That little piece of heaven is none other than a miniature Clarke Gable!!
What a doll!!!
Rachel is wrong too.
He is ALREADY sweeping the girls off their feet!!! Wink! Wink!!

I just thought of something Jessica.
If you keep this blog and all it's messages and comments, won't the little guy be embarrassed when he gets to be a teenager!! HA!!!
On secoond thought...It COULD be very good black mail material for making Ty tow the line!!
OR if we as a group do not approve of the girl he HAS swept off her feet well???......Love Terry

Hi Ty!!!

Rachel said...

Terry, what do you mean? When Ty is old enough to take a bride we'll all STILL be blogging away and conspiring against him and setting him up with OUR girls! What better way to do it?!

Jess, I like what you said to Amber..."in long enough to make me aggrevated.."! ROFL! DITTO! and Ditto again! actually it has gotten better even though I still get..."you just wait till they get older" . WHAT, may I ask everybody, Am I waiting for??? Should I stop enjoying them now so that I can sit down, chew my finger nails awhile and worry about their teenage and adult years?! NONSENSE! LOL! I'm too busy worring about whats going to get torn up or drawn on in the next few hours to stop and worry about what they'll do years from now! As long as they don't draw snowman on my fridge or throw up on my new skirt I won't care what they do!!!!! ROFL!

He's definitely the cutest little pirate I've ever seen! (You look pretty cute as well!) I hope you and Ryan get to go on your date this weekend. I'm leaving early Saturday morning to go visit your parents and everybody. Make sure to remind your mom in case she and your dad forgot!

I appreciate your prayers, Jess. There are no words to tell you how difficult this week has been. (School-wise, of course) By the way, BJ and his parents came to church Sunday morning, and he started rehab on Monday. Don't know if I told you I had talked to him or not. We need to have a phone conversation sometime soon!---Or maybe a crazed visit to Steak & Shake at midnight some night.

Love you. Hope you're doing great! You, Ryan, and Ty are in my prayers.

Smiles,
Andrea

Dear Jessica..Are you getting thinner or is it just my imagination?
It looks like you are fading away to nothin'!!

Good morning Ty!! Make sure you keep mama out of your Halloween candy or should I say your "pieces of eight"?
Hey and easy on the eye liner,eh Baby!!! Your winks are ALREADY deadly enough!!!
And wipe that peach fuzz off your face!

...Love Terry

A normal week for me at last Jessica. Betty has gone back to work and now I have a few days off!! Yay!!!

Dear Jessica.. It was on Jan 7 2006 and I called it "Insulting Bernie"!
Hmm...THAT guy on the clown's lap isn't a bad looking guy at all.
I wonder if I could hit him up for a date!![FLANNEL shirt and ALL!] ha!...Love Terry

He is NOT as cute as you are Ty!![CARROT face and ALL]!...

A miniture Clark Gable! lol!!! That gave me a good laugh Terry! Thanks! hahaha...and yes...he'll probably be humiliated one day about all this..but then YEARS later he'll come to appreciate the fact that his momma loved him enough to post about him so much! PLUS...hopefully sometime in the future I'll be posting about his brothers and sisters as well! SO he won't have to be alone!!!

Hey Andrea!!! I think the crazed visit to Steak-n-Shake sounds better! lol!!! Anytime girley! It seems like we just don't get to talk like we used too. *sniff*

YES IT DID work Morgan! hahaha

Wow Terry THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Believe me..if you saw me in person you would no for SURE I'm not wasting away to nothing. I think I've hit a plateau...or however you spell it. I am trying to lose the baby weight I gained during pregnancy. I have a good 12 lbs to go though. ARG! I'm so glad that Betty is doing well enough to go back to work!!! That's wonderful! We sure did pray for her! And I'm glad that it gives you a break too! What does "pieces of eight" mean? Is that something Canadian? He got two teething toys and a couple jars of baby food from his Aunt Sandra and Brenda, a friend of ours...so he wasn't completely unfortunate! lol PLUS he got cuddled at every relatives house we visited. VERY funny picture of Bernie! Thanks for sharing!!

Piecies of Eight?
That's what the pirates used to call all the gold that they stole from other ships!!
And seeing as you thought "Clarke Gable" was a pirate than any candy he got woud be "pieces of eight"!!! Ha!! Love Terry

When in doubt..Google it girl!
They were Spanish coins...and PIRATES just loved them..

Hello there mini Clarke Gable!
Now that doll is one little piece of heaven!

Jessica said...

Thanks for the info Terry..haha! I never even thought about looking it up on Google..hmm! Good idea! I'll try that next time. I told little Mr. Gable that you said hello! He says "hi" back! Jessica
