"I want chewin' dum"

...you know...cuz' that's what big boys get when they poopoo in the potty!

We are officially potty trained! Only one child in diapers now! WOOHOO! I am doing the diaper-free, potty trained, cost-cutting, thankful mommy dance. Ty did very well with the potty training, however, I had some serious issues with it...at times.

These 'people' tell you that it it SO much easier to potty train boys in the summer because they can go out in the grass. Uh, pardon me but, which stinkin part of pottying training is easy?

I know I know, maybe some of the super-moms out there have ALL the patience in the world and just adore the beginning stages of potty training, the frustration, the accident clean-ups, but this mommy doesn't.

Ryan arrived on the scene after a hard days work to me crashing through the door toward him with a "weary soldier" appearance and proclaiming " I'M NOT CUT OUT FOR THIS POTTY TRAINING JUNK!" However, I overcame and encouraged and Ty adapted and picked it up VERY well. It only took about three days for no peepee or dribble accidents, but the poo problem took a little over a week.

We had tried just about everything to encourage and give incentives for going poo in the potty. We had RAH! RAH! RAH! sessions and everything. Nothing worked. UNTIL, one day when I had the striking notion that it could be a privacy issue. So I tried, subtly, saying, "Mommy's going to step out here and get you a book. You go ahead and go potty while mommy's gone to get your book." VOOALA! Not ONE accident since then. The poor little guy just wanted some privacy.

Let me just say, I LOVE potty trained kiddos! It is SO nice. It's like a dream to just have ONE in diapers now, and a nice hefty load of the checkbook too.

Congratulations little man! You did it! ......and so did mommy! Whew.

Happy Birthday Macie

[insert witty title about a cake here]

I just love this picture of her. It looks like she's trying to be 'dreamy.' :)

This is her little cake that she got to eat all by herself.

And oh how she enjoyed eating it.

She ended up leaning down and eating it with no hands. It was hilarious. She did it herself then for a picture I had to go over and lend a hand. ;)

Where Did the Babies Go?

Yes, at one point I had two babies. They're gone now. Where in the world did they go? They've obviously gone somewhere and left in their place two toddlers who talk, run around, get into stuff, have attitudes, have opinions, need space, argue with each other, and a million other things. However, there are certain perks to having these two new little children around. They dish out some great 'lovins' as we like to call them around here. They're helpful, loving, curtious, obedient, hilarious and a million other things here too.

Ty and I were laying on the couch just yesterday when he turned and looked at me and said, "I love you...very much Mommy." Yeah...that's a perk.

With every kiss that Macie gives, she follows up with a drawn out, very girley, "Awww!"

Ty, the new toddler Ty that is, is potty trained. *for the most part* He hasn't had a #1 accident in...well, I can't remember when. The #2 factor is giving us a little more of an issue. Some days are awesome and he shows no apparent problem with pottying in the potty chair. Other days he seems to be freaked out by having to go poo in the potty. Ugh. I officially proclaimed last week that I was not cut out for potty training. Then, the very next day, we had a prize winning day with NO accidents and I felt bad for saying it. Oh the guilt.

So, where did my two babies go? I blinked. That must be it. When my teany-tiny little girl starts saying two word phrases, that is an explicit sign that my babies have disappeared. I mean...hello...she's the baby!!! Today she came out with "No way" and "Hey Ty"...uh...she's scaring mommy.

I love the new stages they're in, but I sure am going to miss those sweet baby-isms.
