Uncle Ron and Ty

This is a test to see whether or not my Picasa is going to upload my photos to Blogger Beta again.

AH HA! Issue resolved! In order to upload your pics to your Blogger in Beta through Picasa, you must turn off your back links which can be done by going to your settings tab! Woohoo! Back to photo blogging through Picasa AGAIN!

I thought this was just the cutest picture. This is my Uncle Ron and Ty. Ty had just woken up so he has the sleepy eyes look! Uncle Ron is my mom's younger brother.

I wanted to add a funny list of New-Mom Truths:

  1. You will hear all sorts of delivery and nursing nightmare stories once you start sharing your own...or before!
  2. You will lose tiny socks in the wash!
  3. You will be able to shower, wash and dry your hair, and get dressed in less than ten minutes.
  4. You will want to apologize to friends and family who had kids before you for never really getting why they had less time for you.
  5. You will be so proud of every ounce your baby gains.
  6. You will wonder whether it's possible to get all the crud out of your baby's skin folds.
  7. You won't stop worrying that you'll make your baby bleed when you clip their fingernails.
  8. You will wish you had the time and brain cells to read just one of the novels you blew through when pregnancy heartburn kept you up all night.
  9. You will dread encountering baby-crazed preschoolers with runny noses and coughs.
  10. You will never again touch an infant that isn't yours on the hands or face.
  11. You will get use to how your husband comes home from work, checks on the baby, and "accidentally" wakes him up.
  12. You will pretend you don't smell your child's dirty diaper as you hand her to Dad.
  13. You will rejoice when the baby's bald spot finally fills in.
  14. You will feel so blessed to have a child when you catch up with a friend who's been struggling to get pregnant.
  15. You will find yourself saying "I only have one child so far," as if you're apologizing for not having a brood hidden underneath your petticoat.
  16. You will hear about criminals on the news and wonder what their moms are doing.
  17. You will accept that your husband will never be as paranoid about the baby as you are, and will decide that's a good thing.
  18. You will be relieved when your child turns 1. You didn't break him! lol!

I thought you guys might enjoy some of those! Later, You Stay-At-Home Mom Jessica Posted by Picasa

Uncle Jim

I wanted to post a picture of my Uncle Jim that recently passed away. This was my mom's brother when he was in the army. He was a real knock out huh?

The wedding went really good! I ended up singing two songs. Everything went off without a hitch so I was really happy about that.

Ryan surprised me and took me to see my grandma after the wedding was over on Saturday. We had such a GREAT visit! I hadn't seen her or my aunts and uncles up there since Ryan's and my wedding TWO years ago! AHHH. They all came over and it was WONDERFUL getting to visit!

Grandma and I talked Mary Kay for a while since she used to be a consultant years ago. She pulled out some of her old products and we laughed at the changes. It was fun. Aunt Pat, Aunt Jeannie, and Alex came over next and we all sat around talking and playing with Ty.

Ty fell asleep then Uncle Ron, Aunt Mary, Courtney, and Conner came over. We had such a great time fellowshipping! It was SO good to see everybody again. Grandma kept us all in stitches with her stories. I hated to leave!

I bubbled about the trip to Ryan the whole ride back to our motel that was two hours away. It was just GREAT to see them all again! I told Ryan I didn't want to wait another TWO years before the next visit. Maybe at Thanksgiving time we'll get to make a quick trip up!

New Mom's Tip: Ask folks to go in on a really nice stroller! They're wonderful to have! My dad's sisters went in on a very nice stroller for Ty. The carseat we had fits right on it...it's one of those travel systems where you can click the carseat from the base right onto the stroller! It's a Graco and I love it!!!

The Wedding Singer...

Well folks...I'm the wedding singer. Ryan, Ty, and I will be gone all weekend long to a cousins wedding at which I will be singing. Right now they have me practicing FOUR songs...we'll see if they get it narrowed down.

Ty and I are leaving our little white house at 6:10 AM tomorrow morning! AHHHH...6 hour drive...this can't be good. Ryan has to work part of the day so he's riding with his dad and brother while I'm riding with his uncles and the groom-to-be. =) That should be funny. I'm quite out numbered with three men and a baby boy. Pray for me!!! haha...nah, we'll have a good time I'm sure. Also, pray for me that I'll do a good job singing. It makes me NERVOUS to sing in people's weddings...you know, the MOST SPECIAL DAY OF THEIR LIVES!!! No pressure there! lol.

Amanda, you call me anytime girl!!! I love our chats! You're a great friend too!

Terry, GIRL...you better get some rest...we can't have you so tuckered out all the time. Ty misses all your good blogger comments about his winks. lol! I thought you'd like this picture of him. He's wearing my favorite hat for him. It's a soft light blue velvet and I think it's just DARLING!

Jodi, if you have your baby THIS weekend, I'll be just a couple hours away SOOOO...just keep that in mind. hahaha! Kidding...mostly! lol!

New Mom Tips: I know everyone gives you advice about napping when your children do...HAHAHA...what a funny joke. Sometimes that's the only time you HAVE to get things done! On the other hand, sometimes you're SO exhausted that I've MADE myself *mind you...some of you all will have to MAKE yourselves do it* lay down. I don't even remember my head hitting the pillow before I was out! They were the best naps I've ever had! You deserve it! And don't worry...that laundry and those dishes will be waiting right there where you left them when you wake up! lol

Welp..I better SCOOT to bed! Love and hugs to all! Jessica

Aunt Andrea and Ty

I just took this cute little picture tonight and thought I'd post it really quick before we went and did piano lessons. By they way...Andrea is doing GREAT on the piano~YAY!!!

New Moms Tip: I used the hospital issue "Soothie" paci's for a while but the way that they are shaped anytime Ty would open his mouth, it would fall right out. So I switched him over to Playtex Ortho paci's. I have only been able to find them at Target, but it's been well worth it. The way his new paci's are shaped when he opens his mouth they crook up on the end so they catch against his gums. AND...they are made so that when he gets his teeth in he will not be buck toothed like the Soothie paci would have caused him to be.

Ty's litte face!

If you all had any idea how hard I've been trying to post a picture, you would all cry out in sympathy! haha...I've had the worst time today. This is the first picture I've actually gotten to show up so far. I have quite a few others I was wanting to post.

Ty seems to be over his sickness and back to his little self.

The rest of us are doing much better too!

Exciting news: we had a girl come forward to profess salvation and ask for baptism! It was really exciting! It's always awesome to see the Lord working in people's lives.

Wow!!! It sure is windy here today...the wind blew my swing over on the back porch and sounds as if it may blow our windows in as well...yikes. I hope our little white house stands firm!

Mom note: Boudreaux's Butt Paste (I know, I know...I didn't make up the name to it) is the BEST diaper rash cream that you can get! In the experience of myself and now my friend that I loaned it to to try out on her little girl, we've had amazing results. It's the only thing that would clear her little girl up and has worked wonders on Ty's rashs too! It's very creamy and nothing like that hateful old Desitin.

Sad News...

My Uncle Jim passed away this morning. Please pray for us and especially mom. We're aren't certain whether or not he was saved and can only hope so that makes it harder. We'll miss him.

Mom and dad are coming to visit this weekend. I'm really excited about seeing them ! It seems like it's been forever!

Thanks Sandra for being our new commenter! We always love to have new people stop by!

The program I'm using to change the colors and things in my pics is Picasa. I really like it. You can do some neat things with it.

Again, just keep us in your thoughts and prayers! Thanks all, Jessica Posted by Picasa
