Car Crash

We're all FINE...

I thought I'd start out by saying that. Last weekend we spent with mom and dad having Christmas with them and my brother, sister and her family. Sunday we went to church with mom and dad, then stayed and ate at the fellowship they had afterwards.

Sunday afternoon Ryan, the kids, and I started off for home. It's a five hour drive so we were trying to get an earlier start this time. I had the cruise set on 70 MPH, which is the speed limit now so everything was fine until this person in a dark, navy-blue Crown Victoria backs out from the Emergency lane RIGHT in front of us. I never even saw them sitting in the emergency lane, but Ryan did.

All I saw was when the whole back end of their car whipped out in front of us.

I swerved to the left to miss them and then back to the right, but at that speed the vehicle when out of control and we flipped. The ceiling caved in on my side and hit me in the head.

The kids were both asleep. As soon as we started to wreck, I started praying that God would take care of us and keep us and the kids safe. Apparently I was praying outloud because Ryan said he remembers hearing me.

After we flipping across the median, which was a huge ditch, we landed back on the wheels with the nose of the SUV pointing down into the ditch. We immediately looked at each to make sure we were okay and then jerked back to look at the kids. Both started crying, but they were perfectly okay.

We were blessed to have two doctors, a nurse, and an off-duty EMS worker stop and help us. The driver of the vehicle that backed out in front of us took off.

Ryan has a cut above his eye, but didn't need stitches and a bruise on his side and arm.

The kids are AWESOME! Not ONE scratch or mark.

I have a couple scratches and part of my hair was cut off on the top where the ceiling caved in and hit me in the head.

Other than that we're all doing great. Pray for us though. This was not the best time financialling to be going through this. I requested car rental with our insurance but somehow managed to not receive it on our policy so right now we're paying out of pocket for the rental until the insurance figures everything out.

Plus, we're still paying on the Mitsubishi and now we're going to have to find a new vehicle, so please pray for us! I'll add pictures if I get any.

Love from us!

Thank you guys for all your prayers! We're getting better each day. Still waiting on the insurance thing. Thankfully this is my last day at work before Christmas break so we're taking the rental back today and that will save us $30/day. Thanks thanks thanks again for the prayers!!!!

Hey, Jess. I'm still at the school, but I was able to pull up your site. What a scary experience! I am so glad that God took care of you all! Sounds like you remained pretty calm during the whole thing, so I know that was God's grace, too. I will continue praying for all of you.
Love you lots,
Andrea

Thank God you guys are all ok!! So glad the kids are too!! A friend of mine was in a car crash a month ago.. she should be dead but God saved her too!! She had a broken neck, pelvis fractured in three places, ruptured spleen, bleeding in her brain, crushed foot.. and a month and a half later she is fine and walking around almost as normal.. no brain injuries, she is normal!! Praise God!!! He is a God of miracles!
